No filament pulling, maybe missing a screw ?
Hello,

I met an issue with my prusa MK3S: It doesn't load filament at all.

When I manually force the filament down to fill into the extruder, some melted PLA actually exits through the nozzle. Therefore, I don't think the heat sink is clogged.
But !
If I open the extruder part, I see that putting aside the two gears part (which grip the filament), when I call the command "Load Filament" the motor axis rotates, but not the gear itself...

After looking more into the issue, I noticed on the manual pictures that the gear cylinder has a screw to solidarize it with the motor axis:
(just bellow the right red arrow)

Again I see it in this official video tutorial:

But in my case (the machine was delivered as-is, already assembled), I don't see any screw there, only a bare thread pitch...

Is that what's causing my filament problem? Is the piece missing? If not, how can I fix the issue, please?

Thanks for reading this!

there should be an M3 grub screw, 2mm long, holding the Bondtech gear still.

have a look at the magnets, which are under your heatbed, there nay be a grub screw stuck to them,
Have a look in your spare parts pack.... there may be a spare one in there...

when you do find the grub screw, please use a flat ended allen key in preference to a ball ended allen key because ball ended allen keys tend to break grub screw sockets

regards Joan

Oh thank you !
So now I have identified my problem^^. What a relief !

Unfortunately, I have found no spare parts for that screw.
Can you or anyone link me a reference for that particular part ? (like on amazon ?)
I know it will be difficult to be delivered in these apocalyptic times, but that is the point I wanted to ressurrect my printer^^.
Cheers,

I couldn't find them on amazon,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M3-3MM-HIGH-TENSILE-12-9-SOCKET-SET-SCREWS-CUP-POINT-GRUB-SCREWS-ALLEN-SOCKET/122038784966?hash=item1c6a1413c6:m:mCMiu7hGtTpcfd5zjDr3ddQ

in the type box choose

M3 x 2mm

then select your quantity!

best wishes Joan

Friendly reminder that this is the prusa Mini forum... Don't want to sound grumpy but lately it's been getting filled with mk3s posts.

Oh thank you very much Joan  !!!
I have no idea to find this kind of parts on ebay oO.

I'm so sorry matteo I mislocated my topic ><. I did not know the mini existed 😲 .
I searched if I can move it but I do not find a way to do it myself but be free to move it if needed.
By the way, I think my kind of issue can happen to every model^^.

Yes, thanks again^^.
I was able to switch to my region's ebay and find the equivalent.
Hope to see if I can manage to receive the missing piece in time and being useful to the pandemic.
Cheers
