Extruder assembly - eccentrical filament [MK3S]
Hi
I've just assembled a MK3S and have a question to the extruder assembly.
Is it normal that the filament is going eccentrically into the PTFE tube and is a bit bent or is that an assembling mistake? In the picture, you can see how the extruder wheel presses the filament on one side.
The prints aren't that bad but I had problems with the first run (kind of clogging) and later the extrusion seems a bit inconsistent. Before something wears off too fast, I want to make it right in the beginning.
Thanks for helping!

This is normal for the stock design. There are some user modifications out there that correct this and center the filament over the tube.

That is normal to some degree, once the other gear engages, the filament will be pushed into the hobbing, the teeth will bite in and the filament will become more centered.

I'll see how it develops. If the printing quality stays good I won't change it. But I also like the idea to print a changed part and try that out.
Thanks guys!

Today I disassembled the Extruder partly until I could reach the part that is directly fixed to the extruder motor. There is a little play for it after loosening the screws. I pushed the part in the direction that there will be the maximum space for the filament towards the gear.
Now it doesn't bend so much and goes in very smoothly 🙂
