Expected Dimensional Accuracy

Have a kit built MK3+ that I've been printing with for about 2 months. I've noticed the actual dimensions of my final parts is not the same as the drawings I've made in Openscad and sliced in PrusaSlicer. I've created a 50mm x 50mm x 10mm print with 5mm walls. I'm wondering if the deviation of the actual print sizes from the drawn object are what I should expect from the printer.

Actual dimensions are as follows:

X = 49.74, Y = 49.71, Z = 10.05 and wall thickness varies from 4.92-4.96.

I realize I can scale the part in PrusaSlicer, but I'm wondering if that's the right way to handle this or if there's some calibration setting that would allow me to make a permanent change to the printer.

Thanks for any help!

RE: Expected Dimensional Accuracy

I've done a bit more experimentation and I'm starting to suspect that the difference between the part size I am drawing/expecting and the actual size is due to shrinkage. I've tried PETG and PLA. My limited experience with these two materials lead me to conclude that PETG shrinks more than PLA.

Are there any resources that can help one figure out how much shrinkage to expect from different types of materials?

Thanks again.
