First layer calibration 0.6mm nozzle

I have been using the Revo 0.4mm nozzle for several months.  However, having watched the videos touting the value of the Arachne engine with the 0.6mm nozzle, I got a Revo 0.6mm nozzle.  Now I am trying to do the first layer calibration.  With a remarkable lack of success.  The little rectangle that is supposed to print at the end (top left in the picture) just comes out as some blobs.  I've run the offset up and down and basically have no idea how far off I might be or which way to adjust it.

I usually use the visual approach. I don’t look at the numbers. If it has not dug into the bed plate you’re in good shape. Just slowly move the nozzle closer to the bed plate until it looks like it is getting better and not digging into the plate. Move it in small increments. You should see some improvement. You might have to do this a few times to get it right. This will only work if you are really too far away and not scratching there bed plate.

That built-in method is not easy to use or interpret. Try something like this https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/105404 which lets you test 8 Live Z values in a 5 minute print job.

Formerly known on this forum as @fuchsr -- until all hell broke loose with the forum software...

The built in method is only for use with the default 0.4mm nozzle ... you need to download or design and slice a suitable pattern for your nozzle; a 0.6mm thick square would be  a reasonable start.
