I'm really surprised by this (the auto level disabled on USB mode).
I was pretty sure I already see the Z axis moving on USB.

Can someone confirm this behavior and the G87 fix ?

I'll try to pay attention next print.

Ps : I'm using octoprint all the time.

Yeah, it works for me without the G87 code via OctoPrint.

Just started a print and Z axis is definitively moving.

I am pretty sure G87 only needs to be called once because it writes 0x01 into the non volatile eeprom. I don't see anywhere else that writes to that eeprom reg except G86 which disables mesh after homing.
