Power Cord replacement

Hi,

We have the Prusa i3 MK2s here at our community center. Our first one. I have learned a lot his year about 3d printing but still need some advice. Someone took the power cable and I am in need of a replacement. I have been researching how to choose a power cord for a power supply but not sure I understand it yet. The cable should = the voltage of the power supply?

I did find one cable lying about it is labeled 15A 125v....could this be it?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Best Answer by vintagepc:

It's a standard IEC connector. Any computer cable should be more than adequate.

The cable should be marked with a voltage greater than or equal to the wall voltage where you live, and a current rating greater than the current draw of the device.

RE: Power Cord replacement

What is the draw of the device?  I have built an enclosure and want to replace the cable with a left angle connector.  The one I have found is an 18AWG rated at 10A.  However the original cable is 16AWG (unsure of amp rating as not printed on cord).  Thanks!!

RE: Power Cord replacement

less than 300 w , so 2.5A @ 120v or 1.25A @ 240V
