Strange XYZ calibration error
Hello, everyone.
I recently upgraded my Original i3 to the Mk 2 version, reflashed the firmware to the latest version, and ran the self-test OK. Homing all 3 axes works fine, with the P.I.N.D.A. probe centered over the first mark.
So far, so good, but when I run the 'Calibrate XYZ' routine, the probe finds the first 4 points no problem, then all 9 points no problem, BUT doesn't return to the 'Home' position. Instead, the probe ends up about a centimetre to the left of the home circle and I get a 'Calibration compromised' error, saying the probe can't find the front left point. ❓
I've tried it twice now, and both times the same thing has happened. I'm stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Strange XYZ calibration error
Correction: the XYZ calibration routine completes twice (which proves the axes are aligned & nothing is slipping), but on the third go-round it fails to find the starting point. The probe ends up at about X-10mm from where it should.

Same here.

Same here.
Did you also upgrade your printer, or is it a new i3 MK2?
Re: Strange XYZ calibration error
I keep getting an X/Y/Z fail as well only with mine it says cannot reach the front calibration points. The thing is I can see the status of the PINDA changing state over all 9 points. I have checked everything I can think of as the printer was working perfectly one day and the next day the prints wouldnt stick to the bed so I decided to re run the calibration and got this error. I have even reflashed the firmware and tried calibrating but get the same results each time. Getting really fed up now, even the help chat couldnt offer any advice.

Has your PINDA probe rattled loose?
I applied some threadlock to it once it was working well.
Re: Strange XYZ calibration error
The PINDA probe is nice and secure.
Re: Strange XYZ calibration error
I finally got mine to complete the X/Y/Z calibration with the "all axis are perpendicular" result by stripping it down and rebuilding it.
Still dont know why it went from working perfectly to needing a rebuild but its working so I am happy.
Re: Strange XYZ calibration error
Many of the XYZ calibration issues are caused by slipping X or Y belt pulleys.
