Stocked prusament PLA profile for input shaper

Looks like the 220oC other layers print temperature for the stock Prusament PLA profile is too low. Always seeing extruder skipping for lipstick red (again, this particular color looks like needing a higher temperature than other Prusament PLA). I need to increase it to 240oC to make it works good enough.

Update. Still some extruder skip at 240oC. There is not extruder skip after increasing it to 250. Will test with Prusament of other colours to confirm the issue.

It is almost certainly HW issue with your printer. I would start by replacing the hotend PTFE.

Maybe. But the stock profile for Prusament works without the input shaper. All other stock profiler also works with/without the input shaper. So if it is a HW issue, then I would say the stock profile for the Prusament with input shaper has also too little error margin for the HW. I don’t have a conclusion yet as I haven’t tested other Prusament PLA filament other than that particular roll of lipstick red.

Besides, the whole hotend is rather new and is just around 6 months old.

The input shaper is much faster, requiring filament to be pushed through the hot end and extruder faster. I also had to tighten the extruder adjustment screw. 6 months is not too short a time for a hot end PTFE tube swap if it's used a lot.

Mark

I would do cold-pull and some nozzle clean-up as well. I change filaments often and noticed that from PETG or ASA to PLA always leaves some debree or materials inside. I will +5 on Mark's suggestion about hotend PTFE change or at least inspection. also, check your extruder tension

Thanks for your suggestion and help. Sorry that I didn’t come back for quite a bit of time after solving the issues.

The issue was solved by reversing the Bowden tube. Somehow that particular roll of filament got a lot of twist inside. The torsion is so high that after coupling with the natural shape of my Bowden tube, the tube was twisted into a shape with a sharp turn near to the hotend.  The extruder has a hard time to push the filament through in some print move and the issues build up over the print. I should be able spot it at the very beginning.
