Mini Input Shaper and PETG

Works with PLA, but PETG not so good. Has anyone tried to do an extrusion calibration cube and tweak the flow rate? The only mod to the setting s I have made was to slow first layer to 20mm/s. Right now I'm using the original Mini+ profile setting for PETG and comes out very good.

Hi i just updated to the alpha2 firmware for mini+ and again i can upload bigger files over WiFi (tested from slicer 2.7-alpha), besides anything else works like before, it kept profiles for sheets etc., and I tried to slice model with 2.7 alpha, and it works too.

I just updated from 4.4.1 to alpha2. The update was smooth without any hiccups. The settings were migrated, but I still did full diagnostics and calibrated z-offset anyway.

I have a Mini+ with Bondtech IFS upgrade (the step changes for the extruder were migrated as well). I print with Bondtech 0.6 CHT. Everything works great. Connection to the Prusa Connect also works great.

My only problem so far was a blue screen of death after uploading my 5th print. I will post it to GitHub if I see it again.

I have the Bondtech IFS with o.4 Nozzle. At some surface and edge areas you can see some gaps. Looks like under extrusion.

Same result with Alpha 1 too.

What are your E-Steps settings? 415?

Also updated to alpha2, but I did get a memory heap error when trying to send bgcode to Connect queue.

RE: 5.1.0-alpha1 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI/MINI+ with Input Shaper and Prusa Connect!

It's because the old files are using a different image format, PNG and the new is using QOI. Check the info on the Github here. This excerpt is from that Github, "Please note, that this alpha firmware for MINI utilizes a different QOI image format (previously PNG). G-codes with the new thumbnails can be prepared in the upcoming PrusaSlicer 2.6.2.". I found that any files I tried to load that were made for use with the old firmware won't work because they all use the PNG thumbnails and I think it's too much data to load in memory with the bigger firmware. When I tried to load any files with a PNG it crashes with the BSOD. As long as you slice your file using the profile: Original Prusa Mini & Mini+ Input Shaper (Alpha), the model should load on the Input Shaper Alpha firmware for printing. I hope this helps.

RE: 5.1.0-alpha1 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI/MINI+ with Input Shaper and Prusa Connect!

Yesterday i upgraded my Mini to from 4.4.1 to 5.1.0 Alpha2 and it all went very smooth without any problems.
I did a few test prints with GCode from PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 Alpha and the new printing speed is very exiting and the quality is the same as before. 😆

Print time for a batch print with multiple copies did go down from 4:02h to 1:57h and the result is very good.

So at the moment i'm quite happy with the new firmware and hope that it will work stable in the future.

Alpha2 feels really polished. It was a bit touch-and-go with alpha1 with multiple bed crashes, destroyed pei and rebasing custom profiles on new input shaper ones.
But now that it's all done I'm getting really good results, even with speed profiles and with pretty much stock IS profiles.
Most that I've printing was with Revo 0.4 and 0.25 nozzles, with a weird mount which could potentially throw off both IS and PA. Most has been in PLA, ASA and HTPRO-PLA. And last dozen or so prints have all been at greater speeds, significant time reduction and better quality than with 4.4.1.

IMHO, as soon as the blue screen on start of print is resolved, this is totally production ready - at least for home users.

I was hopeful, and I rebuilt my physical printers with updated printer profiles, but it still crashes when I try upload to queue or upload and print bgcode. I do see, though, that PNG is still listed in the thumbnails, even though the profiles have been updated.

I have noticed that the G-code thumbnail string contains PNG at the end, I'm going to try removing the comma separated portion containing the PNG.

The above didn't work, by the way. Last thing I tried was uploading with no queue or print. I canceled the automatic load when I saw the Mini+ starting to load the bgcode file. After the file had completely loaded to the machine, I told it to start, and no panic so far.

I wonder if it would be helpful if we all add the HW versions to our posts. There is a bit of 'whack the mole' trying to correlate all the experiences.

RE:

I don't recall trying to print 2 things on the build plate at once with alpha1 but after flashing alpha2 I tried and it keeps trying to push the plate along the Y axis farther than it has left to go which throws off where the print head should be printing. I tried removing one of the models so only one thing would be on the build plate but I left the model at the back of the build plate exactly where it was before when I was trying to print 2 of them and It does the same thing. It tries to move the plate farther than it has left along the Y axis. I haven't had any problems before but it now won't pass the self test, giving an error for the Y axis. Nothing has changed but the new firmware from alpha1 to alpha2. I checked the bed size in Prusa slicer and it is still set as it always has been, rectangular 180 x 180. I am also using Prusa Slicer 2.7.0 alpha 1 and I have a Revo Micro hotend.
