RE: Which version are you looking to buy?

I'm going to convert my Mk4S's. At one point I may get rid of my Minis to get another Core one instead but they're humming along nicely (and more reliably than my Mk4S's), so no rush. In which case I will buy assembled. I value my time more than the $$$ differential between kit and assembled don't see that I would learn anything new from building a kit.

Needs some combination choices!  I'm picking up an assembled, but will probably upgrade one of my 4S when that becomes available.  I do think there are some advantages sometimes to having an open air printer for some things.  Like pausing and inserting magnets, printing on unusual materials, etc.

I pre-ordered a fully assembled version.  If it ends up being FAR superior (which I doubt), then I might later convert my Mk4S.  But I wanted a second printer anyway, so getting a factory assembled version will let me compare side-by-side.

Probably the kit.

We could convert our MK4S but we've got the space and the budget to keep it, so why not?

I'll be ordering the conversion.  I recently did the S upgrade, and am happy for the opportunity to convert to an even more versatile configuration.

The kit version looks interesting to me. Coming from a MK3.

I will convert my MK4S if the kits are available in a decent amount of time. If it ends up being late summer or worse, I would likely just wait for the CoreS kit.

Which will probably need the Core One to upgrade to the Core One S lol 😉

People who lurk the Prusa forums for fun are probably not representative of the total population, but still, interesting survey.

I chose the kit for the same reason I opted to purchase the MK4 kit - I want to know my machine. If something needs maintaining or even if I want to mod something, it would be vastly easier if I had the experience of putting the entire machine together in the first place.

Going for the kit.

Already have my mini, MK4S, and XL. The MK4S is living happily in my enclosure, with all of the MMU spool handling already sorted. No need to change anything, and I'm in no real rush, so I'm good with waiting a bit for the kit to drop.

Also gives the opportunity to know the hardware inside and out this time around. MK3S+ and MK4 I opted for fully-assembled, and the mini and XL only came as semi-assembled options, so this will be the first run from bare hardware.

Just holding my fire for now and watch you people deal with the teething problems.  😉

No, seriously. I had my MK4 a year ago and told the director it was a pricy solution but one that would last. No way she's gonna let me lay out another 1000 Euros.

RE: Which version are you looking to buy?

I am a final year mechanical engineering student completing a project to redesign a 3D printer enclosure. In order to research for this project I have created a simple questionnaire to gather data from which will inform my redesign. Please could you follow the link and complete, it should only take a few minutes of your time and your answers will be extremely useful. Thank you in advance. https://forms.office.com/e/sRKu4KkDaU

Poll results seem to go by what I thought. As the MK4s was only recently released, many moved across to it so still have relatively 'fresh' MK4s units already - hence the conversion looks most attractive.
