Top Layer Gap When Filling in Sections

I am producing the Ear Savers, which have a strip and the tabs for attaching the elastic to. When the extruder fills in the layers, including the top layer, it will fill in a section of the strip, then fill in an area on a tab and then return to filling in the strip. Ideally, it should start where it left off, but in every case there is a gap between sections where it filled in. On the top layer, in one particular place, this opens up a visible gap on every part made.

Any suggestions how to eliminate this?

Regards,

Mark

You might try tweaking the extrusion width for top solid infill. Make it the same as your nozzle width and see if that helps.

I changed it and it got worse, not sure which direction would help. I found it was simpler to print the 4 cm one wall thickness cube and adjust the Extrusiin Multiplier to get .45 mm walls. That seems to have improved the top surfaces without any other visible downsides, except for a little more stringing that is easy to pull off the parts.
