Print Stops

Hi all, I start a print and it suddenly stops. The nozzle and bed temps stay the same. And the nozzle sits at the stoping point. I put new files on the usb than it'll print fine. Next day it'll stop again. Any clues?

Are there any error messages? What Slicer and Mini Firmware are you using? Older firmware is not compatible with gcode from the latest Slicer, but reports are usually the hot end crashing into the printed object or the bed, not stopping. You might as well update though and try again.

Clean the usb pins.  Take a look at the usb socket on the control board, are there any signs of cracked solder joints?  Is the socket at all loose on the board?  (Don't force it or it definitely will be.)

Cheerio,

Have you tried printing from a different, known working USB drive?

You can also try scanning your usb drive for errors. On a Windows PC, find your drive in File Explorer, right click on it, and select Properties. In the Properties window, select the Tools tab, and under “Error checking,” click Check. Windows will scan the drive, and attempt to repair any errors. Once complete, try your print again.

I had a USB stick go bad. It would crash the Mini with an error. I had to completely reformat the drive before it would work again.
