Btw, if anyone is interested to know whether filament is PLA or PETG.... PETG will not adhere to PLA. Just print a small cube with a "color" change mid-way. Start with known PLA, switch to the "unknown" filament. Once it's done, if you can separate them, then you know for certain the unknown filament isn't PLA.

You sure it's PLA and not PETG? This looks exactly what I'd expect from trying to print PETG at PLA temperatures.

It still happens, even with the recently implemented NFC codes and detailed spool data. My roll of Jet Black Prusament PLA was manufactured Dec 21, 2025 according to the box and roll (Dec 20 according to the roll number online), and I purchased it directly from Prusa in late February 2026.
I experienced exactly the same symptoms as the original poster. I have only printed with PLA prior to this. It had been a while since my last print, so I thought maybe something was wrong with my printer. I basically disassembled and reassembled everything trying to figure out the clog. Even replaced the nozzle. I did smell the different odor, however, but had no experience with it before to know what was going on. Now I can't seem to completely get rid of the black PETG in my nozzle, even at extreme (for PLA) temperatures. Guess I need to replace the nozzle when using PLA now, because little black streaks randomly appear in my silver PLA prints. This roll behaves exactly like PETG is described, including the 180 degree bending and the required temperatures for a good print.
Actual PLA prints perfectly, every time, however (now except for the nozzle leftovers). This roll won't, unless I severely increase the temperature to the PETG range.
Update, It also does not adhere to the Prusa PLA. They easily separate.

I would suggest reaching out to support for this one since they can get the batch number from your order and can assist you from there.
