Y Axis Belt Snapped
My Y Axis Belt snapped during a long print. I have ordered a new X and Y belt from Prusa. But I am concerned at what is the cause of it snapping. If there is an underlying cause I want to fix that too.
I have had the printer for 3 years (It is an Original Mini). I don't print every day, so it has not had heavy use. But this is the first issue that I have had with the Mini since getting it. Until this one, the prints have been coming out fine, no surface imperfections or dimension changes.
I wasn't in the room when it failed but I saw the print was shifting in Y for a few layers but still printing Ok. I saw the belt was stretched and showing the fibers but it was still held together and printing. When I stopped the print and examined the Belt, it came apart in my hands.
Any ideas what could have caused this or is it just the belt being worn out?
