Underextrusion / bad print quality after four weeks

Hey folks,

I'm pretty new to 3d printing and own a Mini+ nor for little over four weeks. Everything worked smoothly after initial setup and first layer calibration but from one day to the next, it started fail.

To me it looks like under extrusion. I already cleaned the nozzle (cold pull, needle). I'm only using Prusament PLA Jet Black.

First layer calibration rectangle prints fine until it suddenly hasn't enough output: https://ibb.co/Q9SRqrc

Regular print fails completely: https://ibb.co/y4tVKvR

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Jens

the plastic seems to be too high (so it do not adhere to the bed)

I'm not an expert. Ma parlo anche italiano 😉

@antonio-da-catania

Thanks, looking better now. Was already at -1.8 and is now set to -1.97

Far off the common range. https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/first-layer-calibration_112364/

Device is factory assembled. Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to got that high/low.

I had similar issue. Had to move SuperPinda sensor up a bit and do a new calibaration.

To properly adjust Live Z, don't use the in-built method, as the small square is hard to read, especially if you're not experienced. Use this instead: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/life-adjust-z-my-way/

A good Live Z should be anywhere between -0.5 and -1.5, depending on printer and sheet. If you get close to -2.0 I would reposition the PINDA higher.

The Super PINDA should have about 1.5 mm distance between nozzle and SPINDA, so that you’re around -1 when your Live Z is correct. (For the old PINDA, it was 0.8mm).

Instructions are in Step 16 of https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/how-to-replace-superpinda-mini-mini_179912 (Mini) or
https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/how-to-replace-superpinda-mk3s-mk3s_179920 (Mk3S)

I put this little helper on Prusaprinters.org to help position the SPINDA: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/57192-spinda-height-adjustment-tool-mounts-into-3030-ext. Works better than zip ties or credit cards, with less well defined heights.

Thanks a lot. Will check all those resources.

Was expecting the Super PINDA to be properly positioned on a factory assembled device. I mean, that's what we pay for. Get a properly assembled, tested device.
