Is it okay to carry my printer around often?

Hello,

I have quite general question about the physical construction itself:
I need to carry my printer from one room to another from the time to time (From bedroom, where it is stored and I print smaller and quicker things, to living room, where I print overnight)

I carry the printer like this (The guidebook said to carry it so the Z axe is parallel to the ground, which I find not entirely achievable).
Can I damage my printer if I carry it from a place to place often? (ie. wear out the plastic, bend the metal a bit etc...), or is it safe to do?

Thank you.

Best Regards

I lift mine by the top of the frame, carry it to the car, place it on the front passenger seat, strap it in with the seatbelt and drive to a new destination then reverse the process at the new destination.
I am always careful not to drop or bang the printer and so far I have not suffered any issues.

I keep the printer pretty much in the normal status, X & Y axis horizontal, Z axis vertical

Works for me...

I would bet that the alignment would get tweaked. Even a tiny bit could make a difference in print quality. Why don't you put it on a small cart? It would relieve the stress on the machine.

Thank you for your replies. The cart suggestion lead me to the idea to take desk of probably IKEA table that was laying outside to make small desk with two handles attached so it can be carried around easily and the printer never has to leave flat surface.

I would say if you need to move it frequently, it would probably be best to hold it by the bottom of the printer and not the z-axis. There is a good chance that using the z-zxis as a handle, or attaching an actual handle to it and using that to move it around could change the squareness of the axis. I'd imagine the mesh bed leveling would take care of any changes in the squareness if they aren't significant. But if you are one of those who has done something like the silicone bed leveling mod, you might need to tweak the leveling of your bed every time you move it. Especially if you are super OCD about keeping the leveling differences of the bed as small as possible.
