Any way to convert an "ABS" gcode into "PLA" ?

Help! I have an old .gcode file that was created in Slic3r for use with ABS on my Prusa Mk2.5.

However, I don't use ABS anymore, but I also don't have the original .stl file anymore (i.e, I can't simply re-export with PLA settings.)

Is there any way to covert this .gcode file to print with PLA?

Thanks.

You can try to replace the temperature commands in the start g-code with PLA temperatures, but it will never be as good as reslicing the model.

The difference between two materials includes extrusion factors, temperatures, speeds and cooling settings. Those settings do influence each line of the gcode. So you can't change some lines and expect to get the same results as from a freshly sliced file.

PLA can handle ABS speeds, but especially the cooling is handled very differently between those materials.

Alternatively print it in ASA, which is much easier to print than ABS, and change the heat settings in the main menu once the print starts. Might be worth a try.

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…

When you print it in PETG it is close enough.

Just lower the printing temperature to 230°C and the bed to 85°C and set the fan to 60%

... and do it again after the 1st layer.
