PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
Is it possible to set a custom username or password for prusalink? The user/pass fields are not editable from the printer and I can't see a way to change anything from the webpage. Is there a way to set this in the prusa_printer_settings.ini file?
Thanks, RK

I agree the current 15 character passwords are impractical for many end users. Please allow end users to setup their own user name and passwords for PrusaLink.

replying just to bump this topic.. My browser doesn't seem to want to store my login credentials for the prusalink page, so everytime the tab gets closed, I have to re-login.. and while the 12 year old in my chuckles every time.. somehow my randomly generated password includes the letters "UGay" in that order and I'd like to shift it to something else.. haha

lol. You could generate a new one, but at least part of yours is memorable. Id keep it!

Seconded / +1 / Etc. 🙂
A method of custom setting username and password would be a good improvement as far as for use in a classroom. Even if it's a matter of editing a config file, etc.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
just include it in the config file with wifi settings.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
That sounds simple enough How do I do that?
just include it in the config file with wifi settings.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
you dont. it was an idea where it would be nice to input
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
Hi, sorry, it is not supported on the buddy platform printers
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
well so far yes i asked already and not yet we have to use the super name ''maker'' waouu and the very simple password ''hakrh45frgahrnrr45fnabfjt59t,babrtn59rHAHAHAUK''
easy isn't it !!
i used to do it with my mk3s and the rpiow2 waou so easy finally and can choose all name and password and also huge faster too for transfering... 😴
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
My browser doesn't want to remember login details for the PrusaLink so I have to manually input the long password every time. It kind of defeats the practicality of having the PrusaLink.

use Mozilla firefox , the only one keep in mind and excellent by the way
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
On my Mk3+ Chrome (and Edge) would remember the passwords but with the Mk4 I've given up trying.
I ended up having to use Firefox as no other browser will store the ridiculous generated password for PrusaLink. Unfortunately Firefox no longer supports WebApps and I don't use Firefox for anything else so don't want it opening up every time I click on a saved url. My solution was to create a Firefox shortcut, put it on the desktop then set the Home Page for that instance to the PrusaLink url and change the name and icon of the shortcut. Now when I click on it Firefox opens PrusaLink automatically and the password dialog remembers my login details.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
That is a feature that doesn't sound like a lot, but actually would be really nice.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
What about a QR code including the IP + login credentials from the network screen?
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
Unfortunately i am not aware of a link that could be generated to auto-fill the username and password. Please prove me wrong. I am all for making this easier, but so far I don't know of an easy enough to implement solution. A custom login dialog seems like the only thing that would have a chance of working.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
Prusa makes great printers, yet fails to solve such a simple problem. Annoying.
My solution: I created a text file with the user name and the terrible password.
When my Chrome browser is having bad memory, I use this text file.
RE: PrusaLink - Custom Username and Password
use mozilla , no headache all is saved

Why should I switch a browser? Chrome is the one I prefer to work with.
I don't want to switch tools or change my favorite solutions just because Prusa failed.
As I said, I have a solution.
