Limited horizontal layer shift with MK4s

Hello,

I have the problem that I have a horizontal line at a certain height. Below and above this line the object looks good. In the faulty area, the left side margin of the object protrudes too far, on the right side of the object it is too far inside.

With objects that I have lying on the far right of the print bed, this does not happen. I have compared several prints, this "layer shift" is not always at the same height. This line was shifted 1 cm higher in other prints, for example. But it was always this horizontal line to be recognized.

It also makes no difference whether I print PLA or PETG.

Maybe someone has an idea.

Thank you very much and best regards

Hi there,

for me it does not luke like a typical bulge (where nobody knows where it comes from) but just like warping at the corners which leads to this "particular bulge".

You probably could try again with avoiding warping and better adhesion? Since, my feeling, the bulge is not there where you do not have warping effects, this could solve the issue?

Good luck,

best,
korken

Doesn't look like a layer shift from those pictures but more like a visit from our old friend, the bulge. Pages of pages of discussion in this forum but no universally applicable solution.

There are several threads you might want to look through.

Also, Prusa wrote an article on it: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/the-benchy-hull-line_124745 but also highlighted that their specific solution is not universally applicable.

Thank you very much for your answer and your links. I read them all, but how you wrote, there is no specific solution, unfortunately.

I am still waiting for my conversion kit to the Core One. With luck, the problem wonˋt occur anymore afterwards or I will have new problems.

Thank you korken,

that really solved my problem. I printed it again, but this time I used a brim around the object, so that the curves didn`t come up.

So, no warping and a clean print without any issues.
