Switch from 5.0.0 alpha to 4.6.4 FW not possible via usual process

Good morning fellow printers and makers,

I am having issues with installing the new 4.6.4 FW (or any other FW version) on my MK4 after having installed the  5.0.0-alpha1 firmware w. Input Shaping.

I started with the Prusa factory installed 4.6.2 which worked great, switched to the 5.0.0 alpha and tried to reinstall the 4.6.2 also, which did not work either.

I use the installing method of putting the *.bbf file with the FW version I want to install on my printer to the USB stick via my PC (in the root folder not any sub folder). And I make sure to only have the one new FW version file I want to be installed on the stick. Then I insert it into the Mk4 and restart; it will continue either to:

A) just normally start and show me the 5.0.0 alpha start screen or

B) if I keep the control button pushed during restart* (after logo is showing) - to also just normally start and show me the 5.0.0 alpha start screen

Does anyone know this issue and could please help me to solve it?

Is there another way to try to get another FW version to my MK4?

"To force a firmware installation (e.g. if you need to load an older firmware), insert the USB drivecontaining the desired .BBF file, restart the printer, wait for the logo to show up and press andhold the control button during the system startup until the firmware installation screen appears."
