LCD going black and flashing white occasionally after boot
Hi,
I built my kit and printed a few items. Next time I boot the screen failed half way through the boot progress.
I flashed the firmware up to 5.1.0 and I booted successfully. Started the printer later that day to do a print and the screen was black again after boot.
Today I tried to use it and I got to the home screen, but then navigating to Filament it went black again.
This inconsistency is really frustrating, is there a fix?

The UI also froze trying to unload filament mid-print, but that's presumably a separate bug.

Any resolution? I think I have the same problem (though mine is a MK3.9 upgraded from MK3s):
Screen flickers between black and white, sometimes when I scroll it'll display the icons and options selected but then sometimes go black/white again, sometimes will display options upside down.
Tried resetting to factory and installing a fresh 5.1.2: worked perfectly on next boot, but then problem resumed for all subsequent boots.
It started pretty randomly... The only thing I remember doing differently around that time was assigning the printer a dedicated IP in my router (kept giving itself new IPs every so often, which made PrusaLink and the length of the uneditable password a real pain). But I undid that setting and it still has issues.
Prints totally fine once I luck into getting to that point.
Figure next step is to unplug and replug all the LCD cables, then contact support.

I'd definitely recommend you take some videos the next time it happens and contact support. I had this happen to me and a new LCD fixed the problem.

Update on my experience:
I tried updating the firmware, downgrading the firmware, replugging the LCD/board cables, resetting to factory settings (all with support's support).
Resetting to factory settings seemed the most promising at first - it'd work like normal for 2-6 startups, then issue would resume.
After trying all that, support offered to send a replacement xLCD. It arrived a few weeks ago, I installed and wanted to give it a few startups to be sure it's still working, and it's still working perfectly.
Always love interactions with prusa support (when unfortunately required) - they usually suggest things already tried, but are very persistent to solve the problem and I love how willing they are to just replace parts!

I had a similar problem with the lcd. After speaking to support it turned out that the display was to be replaced. I received a new lcd within a few days. The new display has a different ribbon routing on the back. Perhaps this was the problem. I hope the new lcds will be better.
I have about 20 days printed on my printer.

Hello everyone,I assembled the kit a few days ago and yesterday the display suddenly started to flicker and finally failed completely.
I found a few older threads here in the forum describing a similar problem with type B boards. My display is type A.
I have now completely disconnected the ribbon cable from the power cables as there was talk of interference, but the problem persists.
Out of desperation, I have replaced the USB stick with a different model and lo and behold, the problem no longer occurs.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I am asking because I fear that a new display won't solve the issue

Quick update: the problem occured less with a new USB stick, but still occured from time to time.
I contacted the service and received a new display. It seams like this solved the problem for me

I don't have the problem anymore. At all. And i use the printer near-daily.
