Will MK3 gcodes work on MK4?
I ordered the MK4 and see that PrusaSlicer does not have a "System Preset" in the slicer for the MK4. Or is there a place to download it? Will the MK4 print a code sliced for the MK3. With the MK4's more accurate movements, it seems likely that new codes would be needed to see the advances (like the twice the number of poles in the stepper motor).
I have the hood space all set up for my MK4, but will surely have more questions.

The MK3 and MK4 3D printers are both part of the Prusa i3 family of printers and have many similar components. However, it's important to note that they are not identical, and there may be differences between the two models that affect compatibility.
In terms of the codes used for printing, there should be no issues with using G-code generated for an MK3 on an MK4 printer, as long as the print settings and other parameters are appropriate for the MK4. However, it's always a good idea to double-check the G-code settings and make any necessary adjustments before starting a print on a new printer.
If you have any concerns about compatibility or are unsure about how to proceed, I recommend consulting the documentation or contacting the manufacturer for guidance.

I was amazed that "OpenAI" even knew of MK3 and MK4. Is great - but a bit scary too!
RE: Will MK3 gcodes work on MK4?
If you take a MK3 designed gcode file and go straight to an MK4 with it, its not going to work. The printer settings (e.g. speeds, accelerations etc) are completely different. You shouldn't have to change anything though, just load up the appropriate printer profile and send it.

It does. You'll have to re-run the configuration assistant.

Thank you! I just did that thanks to your comment. I appreciate it.
RE: Will MK3 gcodes work on MK4?
Any old MK3 gcode will work on MK4 with the next firmware. Josef Prusa assured in a Live that they will work, since in any farm is common to have tons of pre-sliced gcodes re-printed when a customer requires new pieces, and he put the priority of developers on this issue.

this is true, with the exception that the printer type, check will cause a notification on the lcd (sliced for different printer or somthing like that. ), and a pause before continuing, if you don't acknowledge the message. if you do nothing, the printer will continue automatically after a short pause.

On my XL I can disable the printer type check in the LCD menu, I assume the same is true for the Mk4 but I don't have one (yet).
