Switching from USB to SD Card
Is there any way to convert from the Thumb drive to a SD Card ? I have Many MK3S+ machines, so I have an over abundance of SD cards. Plus the USB slot of the MK4 is so dang tight.
Thanks

Hello
Thank you for the reply. Do you happen to have a link to the one you are using. I tried the one that I have and It didn't work. Thanks
RE: Switching from USB to SD Card
Most standard USB to SD Card Adapters should work fine. They just reroute the pins from the SD into USB, so don’t do anything special, and the host doesn’t realise any different.

RE: Switching from USB to SD Card
I am currently using a FlashAir SD in my MK4 instead of USB dongle. I purchased a USB key reader adapter.
I purchased it on AMAZON here. The reason that the SD is wireless is due to the fact that I am using it as test tool for the file transmission bug (and it works as Read-Only on the MK4). On the contrary the FlashAir works READ-WRITE perfectly on my MK3S, allowing to save the gcode directly from my PC faster than on the MK4.

This is the same as my setup too - although with standard SD Card. I find it easier to use for my workflow.

I too have tried the Toshiba FlashAir card in my MK4 without success. Did not come to the conclusion that it is read-only although that is probably the best way to describe the issue! Have you taken this up with Prusa support?

Not now. They have too many irons in the fire at the moment.
And yes, that is an approximative behaviour, since as example I can delete files from the PC but I can't create new ones.
RE: Switching from USB to SD Card
IIRC the FlashAir has some odd power requirements that impair compatibility. Maybe a different adapter would help?
When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"
RE: Switching from USB to SD Card
My FlashAir works perfectly when plugged into the adapter and then a laptop or a Chromebook. But not into the MK4.

If you find the correct adaptor will work on the MK4, but only as a normal SD. You can send file through PRUSALINK and save on the SD/FlashAir.
You will have the wireless connection from the PC, but just to see what there is inside the SD from the PC, not to write on it. It is like the MK4 locks the FAT32 as READ-ONLY
RE: Switching from USB to SD Card
This adapter worked on the MK4:

Same here. FlashAir works in MK3S, and does not work in MK4. I also suspect the power requirements might be the culprit.
