Enclsoure - Not Fit for MK4

Hi All,

We just bought from Prusa and assembled the Enclosure for the MK4.

It's too short.

The printer measures 23.5 inches high with the filament spool sitting atop.

The enclosure is only 21 inches high.

We followed the Prusa enclosed QR code instructions to assemble the enclosure.

Have others made some kind of adjustments to the Enclosure?

Did you have to return your Enclosure to Prusa for a refund?

Thank you.

That's why they give you a mounting arm that fits on the enclosure to use instead on the one on the frame.

Instructions Chapter 4c, step 37 and 38

edit: and 39

Yes, as @jp-guitars says, you need to remove the spool holder from the top of the Mk4 amd attach it to the side, you the. Connect the PTFE tube to the top of the extruder assembly and attach the other end as the instructions say. I have a mo4 kit assembled printer and the enclosure. I’m very happy with the fit etc and loading filament is a breeze!

Thank you for elucidating.

It's difficult for me to see in the photo how you have the filament spool mounted sideways.

The cover to the Prusa MK4 Printing Handbook has the spool mounted up top so I haven't seen it ever mounted sideways as its mounted up top on the Lulzbot.

Thank you again for your help.

If you follow the instructions in the link from @Jp-guitars you will not go wrong - these are what I used when I built mine.
One thing I will suggest though, give your newly assembled printer a test before you start to put it into the enclosure - problem solving is a LOT easier when it is not in the enclosure

best of luck.

And go through all the instructions for both the printer and the enclosure and check you have not missed any other steps. They are a lot easier to fix before you put the printer in the enclosure.

Yes, I did a test print and it printed well.

I don't assemble printers generally so I appreciate your help.

I'll have to play around to see exactly how one attaches the spool holder to its side.

Thank you all.

RTFM! it's all there!

Follow the instructions step by step. Do not miss out instructions, there is nothing complicated just think of it as a big lego set.

Start at instruction 1, when completed, goto 2, etc. But, once again. MAKE SURE YOU DO FOLLOW EVERY INSTRUCTION.

Would be able to please share a close up photo of how that spool holder attaches to the enclosure and not the printer?

It's not visibly clear to me.

So appreciated.

Have you bothered looking at the instructions I have told you about multiple times? There are excellent photo's on there, showing the mounting both outside and inside the enclosure and how it is mounted.

You seem to be having a problem understanding that Prusa have made nice detailed instructions on how everything goes together.

The instructions show it better than a dingy photo from me I’m afraid
