RE: Warning about shipments to the U.S.

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with FedEx. It sounds incredibly stressful to have your packages stuck without clear communication. Have you tried reaching out to Prusa directly? Sometimes they can expedite such issues or at least provide additional support. It might also help to keep following up with FedEx's international shipments department until you get the necessary form.

I'm pleased to report a decent resolution of the problem. My packages arrived on Monday, all in reasonable shape. Most importantly, none of my packages appear to have been opened - I was very concerned about some customs agent rooting through the boxes and losing a bag of hardware or something. The corners of the packages were a little dinged up which made worried that they had been dropped, but the parts in the packages I've opened are all intact and undamaged.

Still no word about tariffs, so I'm expecting to get a FedEx invoice for $120 or so, and I'll update if that happens. But so far - no news is good news.

FedEx didn't give me any reason why the packages were abruptly released from customs after a multi-week delay. It's quite possible that Prusa prodded them along and/or submitted supplemental paperwork to resolve any issues, and if that was the case, I'm grateful for the help.

I most likely won't be ordering anything else from overseas until the tariffs nonsense is over, but for the moment it's moot because I have everything I need. Let's all hope that cooler heads will prevail in the short run, although that doesn't seem likely.

Just got a FedEx invoice on the mail for $265.93. that's a 27% tax on something I've already paid for AND gotten a shipping fee discount post order. Any savings from buying the kit are absolutely erased. I'm livid.

That is steeper than in the past, but this import tax has always been there on anything over $800.

Look at the bright side, you would have paid that fee if you bought an assembled printer too, so you still did still save.

Yeah I'm not seeing a bright side. I bought the printer for a set price, had it shipped, assembled it then get hit with a tax two weeks later. The price of the printer just increased 27% for me. That's not a win.

RE: Warning about shipments to the U.S.

Just got an email from FedEx Tracking about an hour ago letting me know my shipment has been released by customs. It arrived in Memphis on Tuesday night. It's now scheduled to be delivered tomorrow (Friday) in Oklahoma. So far I have not received any DocuSign forms or custom invoices.

For reference I ordered an assembled Core One (Batch 15) and the shipping service is FedEx International Priority.

Screenshot of my tracking info.

That's a hefty markup-up.  I'm sorry.  I don't agree with this chaos, but I suspect the decision maker would suggest buying an equivalent US made product instead.  Of course, like so many other things we're paying this extra tax on right now, there is no US equivalent, even adding the markup.  I'd like to consider the Fusion3 F200 for the office, which hardware-wise *might* be better than the core-one, but there isn't any review info on it yet, and it's $3500 shipped, which is miles away from a core-one kit cost-wise.  Otherwise our choices are slim.

Follow up to my last post.

I got two more "International shipment release - Import" updates later in the day on Friday, followed shortly by one last update on Friday night. Delivery date was updated for Monday after the Friday night updates. It finally left Memphis on Saturday night, arrived in Tulsa on Sunday, and was delivered yesterday (Monday) afternoon. There was a small hole in the top of the box right over where some of the accessories are located, but luckily the printer itself wasn't damaged.

Still haven't received any invoices for duties/tariffs.

RE: Warning about shipments to the U.S.

If you're in the US, don't order for shipment via FedEx!  They don't have their act together at all.  Prusa should either stop offering them as an option for shipping to the US or have a big warning that shipments could take many weeks.

I placed an order for a Prusa XL that shipped from Prusa on May 26.  On May 31 it was available for Customs Clearance.  I tried multiple paths to contact them (including proactively mailing forms), but all of the support reps said they had opened tickets or escalated and that they'd be in-touch with me right away.  It took them until June 6th for someone at FedEx to contact me so they could send me the docusign link.  They claimed it had just gotten to their desk, so they seem to have at least a week delay from things being available for Clearance to reaching out with what is needed.  I filled it out and sent it back within minutes.  It's now a week later from when I sent them the forms (June 13th) and still no word.  I've tried calling but the support people aren't in the Customs Clearance team.  I've reached out to Prusa support and they're also unable to do anything.

I'm worried about what the tax will be as well --- when I tried various calculators that included the new tarrifs I got an estimate of 13.5% (3.5% + the new 10%), so the 27% listed above by some folks is very concerning.
