Prusament Spool Collapsed Mid-print causing tangle, twice.
Hello,
On both my recent spools of ASA, the end caps of the spool came loose, and therefore collapsed mid print, causing major tangles both times:
How can I prevent this from happening in the future or are the spool designs just bad and cant hold the caps on very well?
End up wasting half a roll of the ASA on each roll as its completely tangled and unusable for both. Is there a fix for is another customer going to be lost? Looking online I haven't seen others have this issue, only factory tangles which are minor. This is unsalvageable without a re-spooling machine and/or a spare solid spool available.
Help or support would be appreciated, after much filament, and time wasted.

Just an idea but have you thought about contacting Prusa support and reporting your problem/s?
But if your aim is to vent your anger out on a public user forum then by all means go ahead. I can appreciate your frustration.

Thank you I wasnt aware of a support email, its fairly buried and the Prusament website doesnt have any links to support. I had to do some digging on here to find it. Forum was suggested as a support method. Please feel free to remove this post as I am not sure how to delete it.

wow, I've never seen that happen to a prusa spool. Is that a 1kg spool or 2kg? I've used quite a number of prusament pla and petg spools since I've owned my printers and that literally hasn't ever happened to me. maybe they had a bad batch of spools? it's worth asking support for sure.

I have had an issue with one spool. I dropped it and that loosened the one end. Cardboard pressed into the plastic isn't the best idea but dropping it is even worse. Carefully put the spool back together and all is well. Lesson learned.
