Prusament PLA Perl Red
Hi Guys
Has anyone had any issue printing the PLA Perl Red.
Over the year or so I've had the printer, I've had very few failed prints, just occasionally. Having loaded a new roll of Perl Red, almost 100% failure. I usually print an outline brim, a couple of mm away, to get things stable, generally this fails to stick, either at the very beginning or someway around the outline and gets tangled up. I think it's safe to conclude it's the filament ... Oh, bed temp is 60 degrees, hotend 215.
I've tried re-running first layer calibration - this eventually works, about -0.95mm. - just a bit lower than I had it previously (that was -0.8 ish) - I've cleaned the bed (isopropyl alcohol / acetone) - no luck at all. I then had the bright idea to switch back to the previous roll of Prusament silver PLA, I had a bit left - without changing anything it worked, no issue.

Try increasing the bed temperature, take it up by 5 degC to see if it starts to stick better. I usually find that different colours within the same type and manufacture often require different settings. Unsurprisingly, silver is a very easy colour to work with, I wonder if this is the reason Prusa supply it with their new machines. I find yellow is one of the most difficult to work with.

Thank you - yes, silver prints dead easy, and that was what I was using previously. I'd also used a few rows of Comcast (from Amazon) in this and my other frontier with no issues, so I guess I got a bit complacent. I just upped the bed temp to 65 and slowed the first layer down to 35% (was 40% before, and so far so good.
