RE: Current update on the forum, March 5th 2026

Are we can have an "Abandoned" marking. I 've seen this done on other forums.

Posted by: @diem

in regards to the posts and marking them as solved. I edited the post and added "I am talking about several months after the post"

Perhaps we need a new class of closure and icon: "Presumed solved" and "✓?" - thoughts anyone?

Cheerio,

But isn't it clear enough when a thread slowly sinks down the list of topics in a forum section, until it disappears to page 2?

Personally, I consider the existing choice of status icons excessive already. I find them rather distracting and can never remember what they mean anyway, especially the first four:

Anything not on the page 1 is a graveyard, this is a common issue with the forums.

I suggest not to mark topics as solved ( as people stated in the thread why), but reviewing the posts especially the ones without the answers should help in general. But tat may lead to some necro posting, so don't push it.

I think major struggle should be moving topics and reminding people when they derail the thread 😉

That requires more moderators. Of whom are actively participating.

RE:

Who cares about the forums?

I just wish Prusa would fix the firmware issues with MK4S.  Version 6.4.0 pretty much bricked a lot of printers in November (unless they’re reverted to 6.2.6).  I bought it new only about a year ago, but support has really lapsed since the intro of the core-xy models and (still non-existent) indx “cocaine”.

Some thoughts from my side:

Please think about moving posts to the correct sub-forum in case they are posted in the wrong one...eg posts for "Core One/+" in the "Core One L" sub-forum...thx.

RE:

Something I'd like to see:  if you're changing the forum software, could it incorporate a "favorites" or "watching" system for all levels (sections, topics, whatever you call each level) so that you can see a "filtered" list of all items and just scan what you're interested in?  There's just so many different areas that I don't think re-organizing will provide enough benefit in terms of efficiently scanning for items of interest.

Also, other forums I read allow you to start reading at the first unread post, rather than always jumping to the last item and scanning back to see what you missed.  Unless it's just my browser that's doing this...  🙂

Just wanted to mention that I have not experienced any forum brownouts (where pages would take a minute to load, or cause HTTP error 500) during the past week or two. 👍

@same-old-shane can you make “Likes” public again?

https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/likes-are-now-anonymous/#post-785819

Does putting a @ in front of someone's name do anything in this forum??

@same-old-shane

Please for the love of god give us an option to opt out of the constant email messages for every thread I visit.
It's beyond annoying.

One email message per day would be more than enough!!

One problem is that, every time one posts in a thread, one automatically gets (re-)subscribed to it. Unless one remembers, time and time again, to uncheck the "subscribe" box, or to click the "unsubscribe" link after posting.

And the other issue, as mentioned by Ed: There is currently no option to get a "daily digest" of updated topics. When posting in multiple sections of the forum, I would find it convenient to get a summary of all topics with new replies, to ensure I do not overlook a reply that is directly relevant to me. But I certainly do not need individual emails for each and every new post.

Nah that doesn’t help mate. The forum automatically opts you in every time you post in a thread.
You should have to opt in if you want to subscribe, like every internet forum has always done since the dawn of time.

There should also be global option to disable all email communications for this sort of thing. Like every other internet forum.

It’s honestly ridiculous.

As a quick interim solution, could the "subscribe" checkbox default to "off" state, making subscription opt-in? That should be an easy fix and would go a long way.

This is not a solution but I simply flagged them as SPAM and they get automatically routed to the spam folder.

With such basic functionality missing, and any questions regarding the administration of it falling on deaf ears, It’s really not a surprise that this forum is so scarcely used.

Prusa is pretty active now over on Discord. Just step lightly around the fan boys and the memes
