Can't stay logged in for more than a couple hours?

It's no secret Thingiverse is junk, and I've been looking for a new home for a while. This seems like the best of the other options, and I'd like to start posting my stuff here, but one thing that's really bothersome is I'm constantly getting logged out - often while I'm in the middle of doing something. Or, I go to another part of the site and I'm not logged in at all. Running latest Chrome on MacOS Big Sur 11.6 on a Macbook Pro. Other sites (that aren't ThV) manage to leave me logged in.

Any suggestions?

This has been bothering me also. I was thinking it might be due to me using Safari which has an aggressive cookie deletion policy for privacy reasons (but deleting cookies can result in being logged out of websites). Interesting to see it also occurs in Chrome.

I'm not sure where to report bugs and provide feedback for PrusaPrinters.org, and AFAIK it's a question that has been asked and left unanswered a couple of times here. I doubt the developers are scouring the forum for feedback. Anyone knows of an official channel for this?

Apple default cookie settings tend to be on the strict side (this is good), you can probably define an exception in your privacy and security settings.

RE: Can't stay logged in for more than a couple hours?

I have this problem on the PC as well. Using Firefox myself, but I'll be randomly logged out, sometimes on the same day I logged in.

Then it will go for several days without requiring me to log in, before going back to a cycle of logins.

I also find that the federation between their sub-sites (i.e. Prints, Forums, Store) rarely works, and I always have to click the login button in order to get it to recognize me.

The one thing I've considered was the use of a VPN screwing with things. I know it can cause issues in other ways. So I've just kind of dealt with it, but it is frustrating.

No VPN here. I mean, I do use one occasionally but not for using the site. Even I was using the VPN, there are several major websites that I use that don't blink when I disappear from eastern US and reappear in the UK moments later since I'm already authenticated on that active session.

The worst of the login issues is when I'm actively browsing and while scrolling through a thing's page I suddenly get redirected to the front page and I've been logged out. Have to login and then use the back button to get back where I was. Not even Thingiverse handles it _that_ badly, I just find myself mysteriously not logged in at some point.

I know with thingiverse if I logged in from more than one location that seemed to kick me out of the first, even if I logged out of the second before going back, so I don't do that here either.

I'd really love to move all my stuff here, it's better than the other options, but when you can look at anything and think "thingiverse does it better" - that is no badge of honor.

Did anyone ever figure out a solution to this? Also getting logged out every few hours and federation between sites often requires me to click the login button where the user name should be. Firefox on Windows and Safari on iOS don't seem to differ here.
