Headband with strap buckle
Hi all,
I've taken a swing at a version of the headband with a buckle rather than just a nub for the elastic to attach to. I've printed it and it works great, but I'm new to 3d modeling, so I'm not sure if there are any ways to optimize it. The print time seems a bit long to me compared to the original model, so I'm open to suggetstions.
I created this version of the mask for a couple reasons:
- I had an abundance of elastic without button holes in it, and slicing it to fit it over the original mask's nub was causing a lot of fraying. I wanted a solution that'd work for normal elastic bands.
- My wife is an ER nurse and was concerned about the porous nature of the elastic and how difficult it might be to sanitize. I figured with a buckle, the whole thing could easily be detatched & thrown in a wash separate from the mask pretty easily.
For anyone that's interested, I've posted the gcode here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/25857/user-gcodes
RE: Headband with strap buckle
Can you provide the source files? I have some petg I would like to use to print one of these.
RE: Headband with strap buckle
Happy to. I struggled, a bit, with where to post it. The forum only allows me to upload images/videos and the user files section of prusa3d only allows gcode files. Neither allows me to post the stl file.
I wound up just creating a thing for it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4266286
RE: Headband with strap buckle
Use a zip file and post the compressed file...

I tried that. It scanned the zip, noticed the contents were unsupported & rejected it.
RE: Headband with strap buckle
Do you mean, the forum would not load a zip file?

RE: Headband with strap buckle
I see my problem. I was looking in the header for the controls to attach and while I tried all the add media buttons, I overlooked the attach file button floating all by its lonesome at the bottom.
RE: Headband with strap buckle
It takes a while to get comfortable with a new page format!
