Stuck on Starting PrusaLink

All right, here is the first one 🙂

Raspi Zero W

PusaLink 0.5.2

MK3s with MMU2 on 3.9.3

1. Burned the image to the 16GB SD Card with WiFi and hostname set up according to the instructions

2. Enabled RPi port on the printer

3. The printer is reporting: RPi Booting and then Starting PrusaLink.. I waited for about half an hour and then gave up

I tried that few times and waited quite a long before giving up, definitely more than 10 min as suggested in the instructions.

I will try to burn the image to another SD card, and if that doesn't help I'll start debugging.

Wrong FW

You missed two warnings in the instructions. It does not support MMU2S functions and you need FW 3.10.0 and up

It will probably work if you upgrade FW.

Fixed with the FW update

I think MMU2 is not related. I mean, I don't need to use it and don't see any reason why it should be blocking the init process.

I was thinking the same about firmware yesterday evening, but it was too late for a clear mind 🙂 Once I saw the RPi booting, I thought the OS is alive and just doesn't continue because of something. And that something is probably some unimplemented command in my FW version.

Fixed with the upgrade of course. Thank you for pointing this out.

stuck on starting PrusaLink

Hey, how did you resolve it? I am having the same issue!

I have firmware version 3.10.0 and MMU2s connected as well. I get "RPi Booting and then Starting PrusaLink." I have flashed the SD card twice now.

When connecting the RPI to an external USB power source I can see it is connected to the network through my router web interface.

firmware issue

In my case, it was really a firmware version issue. So it just started working once I flashed the latest one..

I am now on 3.10.1-RC1.

What is the size of your SD card? In the instructions, there is also said that bigger than 16G doesn't need to work for some reason.

32GB sdcard

Thanks for your reply. Yup I picked up on the sdcard size thing as well. I only had 32GB sd card lying around. That might be it but it doesn't make sense!

Yeah, I also don't see any reason why 32G should have been a problem. It might be a communication issue, especially when you see the OS on the card being connected to your wifi. I would try to reflash the printer and MMU to ensure that FWs are fine.

No idea about the size thing. If it's on the network, try to load the wizard using the IP reported by your router web UI. It might tell you more. Maybe. With network you can also look at things using ssh, just put a file named ssh into the boot partition (the one visible in windows) on the SD card and connect to it using your ip and default raspi credentials. After that see whats in the logs /var/log/daemon.log
