start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
I wanted to add my old MK2.5S to prusaconnect. I updated it quite alot and also had to replace the Rambo Mini 1.3a Board a while ago.
When i connect this printer, prusa connect tells me, it is not able to automatically find the SNR, i should just type it in. But i do not know the original Serial Number. Is there any way to start without SNR or to get a new one? Right now i am not able to use this printer with prusa connect..

Hi, what version of PrusaLink are you running? 0.7.0 RC1 should be able to pull the serial number off of the USB chip and so allow you to use it without much troubleshooting. The other way would be to get the printer's serial number from the USB driver yourself. But I know only the Linux way.

thank you for you fast response. i am using latest (0.7.0 RC1)

Oh, that's worse. Sorry, don't know the proper way to give you one, so please contact customer support and tell them what situation you're in. Prepare your order numbers, they'll probably want some.
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
is there no way to get it working without SNR? i do not have any order number since it is very old one and upgrade many times...
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
you almost certainly have one. They get stored into your prusa account and are sent via email
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
if you know how to manually get the snr out of the usb i can try that, linux is fine for me. but i think there is no snr, because i had to replace the rambo mini board and ordered directly from ultimachine (was not in stock at prusa shop that time).
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
any update on this? i tried talking to the support guys as you recommended. They tried to help, but were not able to. They pointed me to the hidden "experimental" menue to activate fake SNR, but this is only available on MK3. They wanted to check this internally and get back to my with a soultion via email, but i havent received anything.
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
I cannot say more. The way your case should be handled is - support gets the order number from you and somebody figures out how to give you a new serial number. Then you'll use that. I'll ask about this when I get to Prague
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
To get the serial number in the board (if there is one), run
lsusb -v -d 2c99:
with the printer connected and turned on. The serial number should be on a line named iSerial
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
I tried using the "Fake serial number" option but it is still not populating this. Any suggestions?

RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
I have the same issue. With the latest firmware 3.14 and prusa link tried the fake serial number function, but it does not create any SN. Do you have any solution how to use the prusa link with mk3s without a serial number. Thank you.
RE: start prusaconnect withput serialnumber or get new serial number?
Same problem here. My mk2.5s started as a mk2 and was later upgraded to 2s, 2.5 and 2.5s.
All methods suggested both by support and on the web yield the same result: a serial number that doesn't follow the required format and is thus not accepted by PrusaConnect. The number is always the same so it’s consistent and I’m very confident that it is indeed the SN.
Support assured me they would look into it and get back to me but it’s been 2 months now, with no updates.
