Buddy 3D Camera
I don't know why Prusa are selling this with its limited specification. There are supposed to be updates coming but obviously Prusa are in no rush to do that. Very disappointed with the camera and the lack of updates. I also find it difficult to believe that we can't power the camera from the onboard USB C.

Just like you, I'm waiting for the update that was supposed to happen in January. I've got special characters in my password and a space in my network name. I'm not changing either of them for this camera. What a nightmare that would be with all our connected devices. The camera is currently listed as "out of stock" in the store, so maybe they aren't selling more of them until they fix this? I can only hope. So many people have wasted so much time. How long are we expected to wait for a fix Prusa?

There was an BuddyCam update two days ago to address the password limitations. Have you tried reinstalling since then?

Yes, I did try again yesterday and that's why I thought the update hadn't happened yet. I get the beep acknowledgement that the QR code has been read by the camera, but it never acknowledges the pairing. The light continues to fast blink. Do you have any other suggestions that I could try?

It just occurred to me that the update can only happen if the camera is online, but since you were never able to get it online you can’t get the update…
If you can get online some other way, such as a temporary phone hotspot, the camera will automatically update soon after connecting. After the update you can do a factory reset on the camera. Then delete the camera setup in Prusa Connect. Then install like a new installation.
Otherwise, I would contact prusa support via chat. They should exchange it for a newer (hopefully current) camera.

My husband and I just had this conversation coming to the same conclusion as you. He's going to set up a hotspot with his phone to update the camera. Thanks for the great suggestions. I appreciate your time.

Yes there is an update which only turns all my images to monochrome.
