Layershift

Hey, I'm having a bunch of problems with layer shift in both the x- and y-direction. I have tried both loosing and tightening the x- and y-axis, but nothing seems to help... can anyone help with this ?

RE: Layershift

First thing to check is that your pulley grub screws are still tight.

My MINI improved when going back to 4.0.2 (worse with 4.0.3), but apparently that is not the issue with yours.
Have you tried printing at a lower speed?  Not a great solution, but maybe gets you printing some useful parts.

If you have checked the grub screws and happy with the belt tension, then I would contact online support.

I can recommend a look to the knowledge base - for layer shift you can find this:

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/layer-shifting_2020

It is not completely specific to the mini, but can help when digging deeper to find a solution.

Best regards, Clemens

@texy

I have contacted support and was waiting for an answer but it was the buddy board that was defect, so they are sending a new one

Its pretty sad.

I did for one

VERY disappointing.. Most people know by now the importance of firmly fixing the gears to the motor shafts.. But it seems that Prusa don't and are shipping the Mini out with loose screws. I didn't even consider this to be the cause of my issues, as there is no way a manufacturer could make such a stupid and obvious mistake.. Right??

and when you ask them to make this general knowledge they get defensive.  hiding from failure doesnt change that it was failure.

I suspect they hired a lot of new staff to deal with the Mini rush and are coming up to speed QA/QC-wise. Disappointing, but at least not insurmountable. They should be forthright about fixes, agreed.
