fOR ALL Your Extrusion frustration... Push to fit may be a poor fit.
for those of you having issues with extrusion. I feel your pain! I also had months and months of frustration. I couldn't print anything.. I knew that it had to do with the extrusion rate, But I wasn't completely sure where the issue was. I bought enough parts to build an entire new printer. Disassembled the extruder gear countless times. Obsessively turned the idler screw. Wasted more time than I'd like to admit . The minute I put the stock Compression fittings back on, I've been printing without a single problem. Literally. I originally switched to the push to fix because I couldn't get the olives to compressed without damaging the PTFE tube. however just screwing the top and bottom pieces together is enough to tighten that olive onto the tube. I did drill through the coupling part of the compression fitting, so that I could push the PTFE tube all the way through. now, no gaps, no heat creep, no clogs. and no more under extrusion! I can only assume that during retractions, the teeth in push to fit bite down and restrict the movement of the filament. My trouble are history.
