First layer calibration problems
I've searched and found a lot of info on first layer calibration, but haven't yet seen anyone with the same problem that i'm having.
I’m going through the initial setup and i get to the first layer calibration, I do the first run, lowering the nozzle as the test lines are printing trying to find the right height. I can get the nozzle close, but still not exactly where it needs to be by the time the calibration completes. Everything seems normal and the machine then asks if i want to run the calibration again to readjust the nozzle height, so i select yes. It probes the bed like normal, then as soon as the machine tries to start printing the calibration test again, the nozzle just immediately crashes into the bed. So i've already managed to pretty well wreck one side of my PEI sheet before my first print..
I've tried updating firmware, adjusting the height of the pinda probe, factory reset, i've manually checked level on the bed and the x-axis and both seem to be pretty good, and no matter what i do i keep getting the same result. The first run of the calibration goes pretty smoothly, and as soon as i try to run it again, disaster... I don't know what else to try.
More info
Did a little more poking around. I noticed that after homing all the axes, you can see that the nozzle parks itself 2.00mm above the bed. After running mesh bed leveling, the nozzle returns to the same physical height, but now it reads 3.75mm. Run it once more, and again the nozzle returns to the same spot, and now it reads 4.58mm. No idea what’s causing this.

I suggest you see this thread and check your printer.

Hi Bryan,
I am having the same trouble, and I have basically ruled out everything that you have at this point.
I ran 4 consecutive first layer calibrations without touching the z height and they all came out different. I am starting to suspect that there's some firmware/sensor issue.
I'm on the live chat with prusa support for the third night in a row 🙁
Three hours on chat support and now I’ve got a replacement SuperPINDA and pei sheet on the way..
