I finally got around to releasing everything (I think it's everything) I used to build my enclosure on page 4:

RE: Show your enclosures

I already twice torn the doors, when doing something with printer (maintenance).

Has someone seen a ikea lack (v1) with roll/pushdown door, just like garages have, but with plexiglass ?

That's what I did. It's a simple piece of plexiglass that is captured by some clips and slides up and down. It is a little rough, but serviceable.

Looks nice. But because I have already split the "front" plexiglass, I do not want to go with this. And wife use the top of the Ikea Lack for her things 🙁 ...

Was thinking something like this... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4867501    ... cut plexiglass to 5cm x 44cm , tape together. Print leading rails, basically one vertical, one horizontal and a quarter of circle for each side. If the rotation and stress on plexiglass is high, then either print some extension on the plexiglass or higher diameter of the rails.

I'm always amazed at the effort people go to in order to give the printer a warm lounge 👍

I have a hard time seeing how acrylic can be bent so much to allow what you're trying to accomplish.

But I understand they the doors always seem to be in the way. Last night I actually started printing parts for this variant of the Lack enclosure: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3485510 for my next printer. I like the way you can slide the doors out of the way.

i just printed the first batch of components so I can't vouch for its performance.

Very nice design.  You should test it out and add it to the world.

It is not so much for temperature as to exhaust the fumes outside and have the enclosure inside. It's supposed to reach 47 C this week. Inside, the HVAC is set to 25C so cooling is not too expensive.

Do you live in a desert (47 degrees C.)? 😊

Yes, in the Phoenix, Arizona area. It has reached 50 C. I suppose there are a few warmer places.

Then, of course, it makes sense to put the printer in an enclosure and provide a stable climate. 30-35 degrees C. is a good reference value for printing PETG or PLA. For ABS or similar it may be a little more.

happy printing,

Karl

Not really an "enclosure" since there are no walls but this is my printer tower for both 2D and 3D jobs.
