Rosewill Server Cabinet Project

Something I've been slowly working on for a while now. Found some heavily discounted server cabinets and decided to make the most overkill print station I could.

I'm using 3 cabinets all together; 2 x 12U and 1 x 9U.

The base 12U cabinet is spool storage. With 2 shelves on euro slider rails installed, it holds 20 spools.

The middle 9U cabinet will have in use spools. The plan is to have this as a temperature/humidity controlled environment. Still a lot of work to do for this one including possible multi material  integration.

And finally the upper cabinet houses the Mini. To make it work I had to put it in sideways and relocate the controls and USB. Everything is installed on a shelf on euro slider rails so it can be pulled out for easier access. I've also done custom LED lighting, 12 strips in total.

Here is a sneak peak at the upper cabinet. Will update this thread as I continue working on it. I'll be installing fire resistant fabric overtop of the isolation foam to cover the awful seams I left haha.

More to come!

Looks really cool -compliments. You were lucky with those cabinets.
Btw. was there a special reason why you rotated Mini by 90deg? I mean, it doesn't look practical loading filament on "back" side.

It was more of a clearance issue. While the Mini does fit the normal way, there was significant strain put on the hot bed wiring when the bed was at the furthest position back.

That being said, I'm not 100% this will be the final position for everything. Since the middle cabinet will be dedicated to the filaments I'm printing with, I have a lot of space to work with. One thing I was considering doing was an autoloading system, similar to a multi material system.

Looks very cool. What's the depth on your 12u cabinet? 450mm or 600mm? I'm looking to do something similar and torn between the two. The price difference is minimal but I'd rather have the smaller cabinet if it can comfortably fit the Mini + the spool currently in use + RPi without the wiring being strained (with filament sensor too).

Mine looks pretty much the same as CovertContours one and is 600mm x 600mm.  It was sold as "18U Data Cabinet 600mm x 600mm 19-inch Wall Mounted".
