@poblupuablo

How did you manage to change the hot-end fan PWM? -> in the Configuration_A3ides_2209_MINI.h file, it seems like the extruder_fan is already set at maximum (255). How did you determine that in the clone the hotend fan rpm is only 3000? - I also have the fysetc clone

Can you clarify the certificate file?  What is that?

I have an original Prusa Mini and after changing the firmware I had to remove the appendix, otherwise the firmware could not be flashed.

@buggyfreak

The jumper is needed only if flashing with stlink, You burned the pcb, i think You can still program it by using an stlink v2 (few bucks online), anyway the usb is probably gone

@buggyfreak

If you have worked carefully, the USB port should not be damaged when you turn on the printer. However, I think the voltage circuit is broken and the USB port is no longer usable. Thus, flashing the firmware should be a bit more difficult.

Also purchased one....

I saw this thread after purchasing the FYSETC clone.  Just received it today.  Now, I own an Original PrusaMK3S but not a mini.  I really didn't do it to save money either.  I just enjoy this kind of thing.  How cool is it to 3D print a 3d printer?

Anyway, I had some coupons on Aliexpress and got the Fysetc clone for $209 delivered.  Ordered it July 26th and received it around noon Eastern time today.

I unboxed it (box was in great condition) and everything was packed well.  Bearings are by YTP?  I have some better quality bearings, so may play around and see what I'll use.  Full disclosure, after reading reviews, etc. I bought an original Prusa Mini hot end and Bondtech heat break.  I don't even want to mess with the clones from what I gather.  I also bought a dual gear extruder clone, but may hold off on that just for experimental purposes.

Someone mentioned in another thread that the belts are crap.  I agree.  Like rubber bands with bumps.  I have some gates belts that I will use (from my Ender 3 stash.)  The power supply does say Meanwell, but who knows.  The kit overall seems nice.  Not sure how much has changed from those shipped last year to July 2021 this year.  I guess I'll find out!

Firmware Recommendation

Hey there,

I found a custom firmware that allows easy ajustments for your prusa mini clone, bondtech extruder, etc.

It is called Llama Firmware and it is working really well. Here is the github link:

https://github.com/matthewlloyd/Llama-Mini-Firmware

Here are some of its features:

  • Configurable E-steps
  • Set Hotend fan speed
  • Skew compensation
  • PID tuning

I tested version 1.0.5 with my clone and I am very happy with it.

Maybe this firmware is a good choice for you too 😉

Best regards

That is pretty slick.  I will have to try it.

latest llama with uart6 enabled

For those who want experiment something more of llama this is the firmware.bbf

with uart6 enabled so You can insert an esp8266 preloaded with esp3d in the slot.

RE: latest llama with uart6 enabled

Thanks for the info and your bbf. Adding an ESP32 with ESP3D sounds great!

One question: How did you enable UART6? I have edited the llama firmware a bit further and want to compile it by myself to keep these changes.

Is ESP3D working on your mini clone?

Uart6 support

In the llama github repo check the pr , there is my pull request which enables the uart6, the bbf is compiled against that pr.

My current setup is:

Esp3d loaded on a esp01s, I enabled the uart ethernet bridge.

Unfortunately the mini firmware does not export the usb as sd card so You cannot use esp3d to print gcode

I connected an rpi0w to the usb A connector, the rpi0w has been tweaked to behave as a usb stick. The folder exported as usb stick is also shared by smb and also used by octoprint as gcode storage. I enabled the uart ethernet plugin so octoprint can talk to the mini through  esp3d. I can also copy gcode to the usb (rpi0w) by network or prusaslicer.

mini

Hopefully, Prusa enables the wireless on the mini soon.  Until then, I am using octoprint
