why....do I have to re-login to prusaslicer every time I use it?

It gets really old and is totally unnecessary for most users...If some people need it to log them out automatically when they're done maybe make it a checkbox in preferences so the vast majority that don't want to have to be constantly logging in to prusaslicer every time they use it...can turn that off. You guys aren't Apple, let the user decide.

I don't think I have ever had to log in to Prusaslicer in order to use it...  Didn't even know that was a thing.

If you want to send a sliced print to the printer without using a thumb drive you have to be logged in.

RE:

Never had to do this in Windows.

Can you provide information on your operating system? Are you on a network (industry or school) that would require a login? Your network administrator has implemented restrictions on who can have access to Prusaslicer? What printer or network are you using for transfer? USB or SD card are an option?

More info needed I am afraid.

RE:

What printer, is it connected to a network? Win 11 has several settings controlling access to networks all the way to apps (programs) based on user privileges or admin vs user accounts.... depending on you local account you might have restricted privileges to access specific programs locally. Check your account status in Win if this is just access to the app.

  • I have a core one, standard Wi-Fi router, standard home network on whatever default settings the Wi-Fi router has. Whatever the default network settings in Windows 11 is is what I have, it's exactly like it would be for anyone who doesn't tinker with their network settings. My window's 11 account is an administrator account if that makes any difference.
  • It's not a network issue, it's that I have to log in to prusaslicer a lot more frequently than other apps. once I'm logged in I can send Prints to the printer with no problem. Other programs on my computer that you have to log into to use certain features or just automatically logged in every time I start my computer and try to use them, I don't have to login Everytime

I have this issue also. It's really a pain, especially since the pop-up login window doesn't support the browser remembering passwords.

Yeah if I didn't have to type in my username and password every time it would be less irritating for sure but I guess Windows 11 doesn't see the prusa slicer login fields the same way it sees a web page login field in a browser.

+1 to this. Having to re login every time is quite annoying. There is at least the option to login with your google or other platform account. But it still leaves a browser window open spinning not doing anything then asks if you want to open prusa slicer, even though it was obviously already opened.

No you dont need to login if you use the flash drive.

I also have to take my phone for the authenticator code... this is really a big waste of time... before the prusa connect I remember I was able to send the prints to the printer without going to re login every time...

RE:

I have to log on the Prusa slicer every time I bring my computer out of sleep mode. It gets old very quickly.

what I believe is happening is that the computer has a permit only firewall installed and an exception had to be made for Prusa slicer. Interestingly, the slicer seems to also call Microsoft edge, which is not by default permitted to do anything given the lack of privacy in the Windows operating system.

if the slicer is unable to immediately communicate with the distance end, you get asked to login again. One would assume that the software would save a token and allow you to login with the token… And that the token would expire in a reasonable amount of time as opposed to every time it fails to communicate with Prusa.

The other thing it does that’s quite irritating is that it asks me for my cookie preferences every time it tries to login again (by Prusa Slicer).
