Who uses a BCN3D Epsilon W27?

Hi All,

Professionaly I use a BCN3D printer Epsilon W27 and their slicer Stratos (Cura) is a perfect nightmare!

Does someone know where to find printer profile that can be imported in Prusa Slicer?

I personally use a MK3 at home with PS and really love it!

I will appriciate if I can have help from Prusa community 🙂

Best regards

Pat

Epsilon W50

Hi Patrick,

I cannot help you at this point, but I am rather hoping for you, to have solved this by now 🙂

We are using a W50 at work and I feel the pain. Also print quality not on point yet, which could be caused by many factors, but I would like to rule out the slicer part in this and I feel most confident with PrusaSlicer.

If you have any suggestions, let me know 🙂

Best,

Simon

No alternative found at the moment...

Hello Simon,

It's pain in the A.. to work with Stratos (Cura core). Up to now we were not able to get answer from BCN3D... No alternative found neither with IdeaMaker or other Slicer.

Do you face wrapping even with glue? To avoid that we have bought a PEI plate that recovers the glass plate.

Concerning print quality, the defaults parameters in Stratos  can't give satisfaction (internal and outter dimensions deviate about 0,3-0,4mm), over extrusion, ...

After several tests with flow at 97%, horizontal expansion at -0,2mm, dimensions are ok, over extrusion much better.

For a machine that costs close to 6k € we can expect to have a good slicer...

I will keep you informed if we found a solution.

Best regards

Patrick

SuperSlicer

Hey Patrick,

so I have managed to get SuperSlicer working at this point, altough I haven't tried any IDEX operations. But I can see improvements in print quality already, which makes me wonder to be honest. I will keep on researching and will give updates, but give SuperSlicer a try. It's very similiar to PrusaSlicer as it is a fork of PS.

Best,

Simon

Hello Simon,

Can share the profil you created under SpuerSlicer for your W50?

plus one looking for a profile for bcn3d printers (stratos and the original bcn3d cura were quite ahead of their time its that they have not made any effort to keep up, shame for such expensive machines)

plus ten. getting used to prusa slicer for the i3, then moving back to stratos for the epsilon is exactly as op suggests... a perfect nightmare.

will pay handsomely for a polished epsilon printer configuration in prusa slicer.

I too would also love it if someone creates a working profile with Prusa Slicer for BCN printers. We got a Sigma D25 and Stratos is annoying to use. There were numerous reasons why I switched from Cura to PS for my personal printers. Now I'm having to spend a lot of time trying to dial in Stratos to give dimensionally accurate parts and stop over-extruding in areas.
