Very specific question about support material
I've been searching the internet to no avail. Hopefully someone here can help.
I am a long time Simplify3D user but I have all Prusa printers. Prusaslicer has gotten really advanced and it has surpassed Simplify IMO. I am looking to switch to Pruseslicer permanently. There is one thing holding me back. I mostly print TPU figures that I design with my wife and we need speed and to avoid wasting material as much as possible. Attached is a picture of how I handle support material in Simplify.
Is there a way to tell the supports in Prusaslicer to grow from the model like I am doing with simplify? This works very well for me and it's the only thing keeping me on Simplify. Thank you for any advice that you can provide.

Switching to PrusaSlicer is a terrific option, however it's reasonable that you want to keep your efficient support structure approach. While PrusaSlicer does not provide an exact reproduction of Simplify3D's approach, here are several alternatives that may produce similar results:
1. Paint-on Supports:
PrusaSlicer has "Paint-On Supports," which allow you to manually specify where support structures should be placed. This allows you granular control, comparable to what you get in Simplify3D. Here's how you utilize it:
Navigate to the "Support" tab in PrusaSlicer.Choose "Support type" -> "Everywhere" or even "Everywhere (sliced by layer)" .Under "Support placement," pick "Everywhere" or "On selected surfaces."In the 3D view, use the brush tool under "Support painting" to paint the regions where you want support structures to emerge from the model.
