RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I brought mine home yesterday. Man what a heavy package! I'm in the process of assembly and enjoying it very much! Everything good so far except the part that attaches the heatbed to the motor rod broke when I was inserting bearing into it, so beware of that and handle this part carefuly. The support was helpful and they'll give me replacement when I'm picking up my next order.

Which part was this? Can you provide a link to the step in the build guide?

Great news! My order finally left Belgium. FedEx says it should be here Thursday. Getting super excited and kinda nervous.

I think he is referring to step 16 in the Heatbed chapter?
Its the only heatbed mount with bearings......
https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/4-heatbed-assembly_835514#842336

With this part note that one end of the section the bearing slides into has a lip that clips into the bearing. As mentioned in my video guide, place the bearing down and push the part down onto it. You will then hear a click when the bearing sits into the lip mentioned above. Ensure the bearing does in straight as much as possible. Once the bearing is in place it is easy to rotate it so the line of balls inside form the X shape, before securing with a screw and nut.

Yeah, @iftibashir is right. The lip broke when I pushed the bearing in, even when I spread the sides with screwdriver. Without the lip, the bearing wasn't fixed in the part even when screwed. I tried to tighen it some more to give the part a better grip of the bearing, but it snapped - layers got separated. It still holds intact so I'm continuing the build, but am pretty sure that it needs replacing.

As long as it securely holds the bearing, you will be good to continue and will most likely be fine. As it later attaches to the Z-Motor and the rod however, it may be a bit of a pain to replace. If support are able to get you the part quickly, I'd be tempted to wait. Although if it's going to take weeks then carry right on! lol

I can't even postpone it by a day! That's how excited I am to see the printer in action. 😅

Um, did any one else notice this? When you build the Prusa core one kit at the top of the extruder, you secure everything with Velcro straps, but look at this image. The filament guide and the wiring is held in some kind of plastic tube like case

Look at the difference when building the kit

*That's the cable chain the early promo images had. That was swapped out late in development for the swing arm/velcro setup.

That appears to be the same cable that comes with the unit. It's just not a great photo. The black you see is the fabric wrap around the cable bundle. I thought you might be referring to the cable chain the early promo images had. That was swapped out late in development for the swing arm/velcro setup.

Core 1 Kit received today

Wuuuhuiiii 🥳

(Ordered: 17 Feb - Batch 7)

Nice detail:

When I was at the local warehouse of the delivery company today in order to pick up my package, I saw another box of a core one there. It was a prebuild version for another customer near where I live.

You could probably find the chain online should you want to build one and use it instead of the metal arm and textile sleeve. Not sure if would add any value over the stock setup though.....just look cooler!

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I don't understand the shipping order, I also ordered on Feb 17, also batch 7, but mine hasn't even shipped yet. I canceled the camera as soon as it appeared on Prusa's site regarding timelines for the camera, so maybe a month after the order on 2-17. So all I'm getting is the core one kit with a textured sheet. So why then are some seemingly pushed ahead? Curious as to how large the batches are? 1,000 printers a batch? Did my order change cause a delay? It wasn't supposed to, but maybe it has?

I'm in Batch 3, ordered Feb. 01, and it still did not ship yet too. I suspect because of the camera. I'm gonna cancel the camera too.

Result!  Removing the Camera and Filter worked.  I received this afternoon a delivery date of next Tuesday (which I had to bump to next Thursday to be sure to be available to sign for it).  Woo Hoo!

RE: The Core One Kit Waiting List

I agree on the mixed messages on shipping, but batch 7 is 5/25 start so they still have time. I was batch 7, got bumped to batch 6 (starts tomorrow technically) and have not seen any updates but don't expect to just yet.
