updated from 2.5.2 to 2.8.0 and lost all filament presets
I finally updated, and when first launched it had all my presets that I've built up over the last 2 years for different brands and filament types that I use on my Mk3S+, closed the slicer and reopened 5 mins later and now all filament presets are gone. How do I get them back as that was lots of hours fine tuning presets to work best on my printer

So part figured out, in its standard config for printer I still have the filaments, it was grabbing a copy of printer, but when I modify printer back to what I had it at being config'd as having 2 extruders but only 1 head for printing multiple colors or materials it goes back to not having any of my filament presets

2.8.0 seems like a bit of a disaster - I tried it, didn't like the interface went back to 2.7.4.

Where the each of the presets are is a bit unintuitive. Basically, it all revolves around the printer.
Worst thing is comes with 3mf's which bring their own project-settings, which will modify just about everything and you can not easily "return to my standard-settings", you have to, select the regular printer, filament, print profile. If you are not careful this might cause all kinds of unexpected behavior.

If you don't want the profile settings from a 3mf file then do not 'open' them. Use the import icon on the platter. Import just loads in the geometry and not the profiles.
Also make USE of the fact that 3mf files store the settings. If you have one or more 'common' settings combinations then SAVE a project with those settings. You can then very easily get them to that by loading in your saved project. For example you could save MK4_Default, or Ender3_default etc. Or MMU_1, MMU_2.
There is also the File>Import option to import the settings from a saved project. So even if you forget and open a 3mf file that replaces your settings you can load in your standard ones by importing them from a previously saved project.
