Support s generated despite support blocker
Numerous times I got supports generated which were clearly in the volume of the support blocker. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something that I could have missed in the settings?
This is most common if there is a vertical wall with a horizontal hole through it. I only want supports to be generated inside the hole, but they are also generated on the outside of the wall, from the bed all the way to the hole. Even if I put support blockers those pesky supports are still generated.

Support blockers (and enforcers too) are not area effects They do not act as exclusion zones. A modifier acts upon where it intersects with the model surface. So for example if you have a flat overhang and put a support blocker On the bed below it then it will NOT stop support being generated from the bed to the overhanging surface. If you put a blocker that touches the surface of the part then it will not generate supports for that area.
its better to use an enforcer and turn off auto supports for things like holes. Also be aware that the support algorithm is overzealous and it will creep out of the area as it will try to support from all around. Usually adjusting the enforcer so it’s smaller than the actual area and slicing to see what you get works. A bit tedious but workable.
post your project file (save as a 3mf and zip it up to attach) with some explanation of where you want supports and we can try to get a setup That will work that you can examine.

Thanks, that clarifies a lot. I thought that support blockers act as exclusion zones which now I know was a mistake on my part. Now i will just design in CAD objects to act as blockers and enforcers to make sure I got them in the right place and touching the print.
