Support interface layer in different material

Is there a way to print only the support interface layer with a different material by means of manual filament change on a MMU-less printer?

I found @joantabb's suggestion to be an efficient way to print multi-color/multi-material --- as long as you only have to swap filaments for a very small number of layers. More than that and it gets extremely tedious.

Thanks @joantabb, I had been looking at the multi extruder settings earlier but didn't think it would work with single extruder machines.

I've experienced that firsthand now during testing. Luckily I'm only looking to do this for a single layer at most, so not too much of a consideration here.
