Support calculation error

Dear all,

I made an STL with Tinkercad and wanted to slice it for printing as usual, but I got a strange issue, at one point where there should be, no support is calculated.

How can I fix it or force a support?

Thank you in advance,

Zsolt

RE: Support calculation error

have you got 'Don't support bridges' ticked? in the support settings
that might give the issue that you describe

Dear Joan,

Thank you very much, that was the issue. I didn't even know that there was an option like that.

What is the point in that anyway?

Regards

Zsolt

RE: Support calculation error

it's an old option, i believe it was originally intended to save filament on prints.
many short bridges, do not need supports.
lots of people notice the lack of supports and think it is a slicing fault.
