Small UI issues
Hi, two things that have lately been bothering me quite a bit.
1. Every time I launch PrusaSlicer, it opens in a very small window. I resize it, close the app and reopen it, and it is still the same small window.
2. When I do a slice, the Legend pops up and covers everything. Every single damn time.
Both things are small, but man are they irritating. Any way to fix each of them...
RE: Small UI issues
What OS are you using ? For me on win 10 the size and position of the window is remembered for the next time it’s opened.
The legend has a shortcut so just close it using that.
RE: Small UI issues
Windows 11. For some reason it won't remember the size when I close and re-open the app. Works fine on every other app.
And yes, I hit L every time. but man is that annoying
RE: Small UI issues
Just check if you have Restore Windows position on Start enabled in preferences would you. If you have and it still doesnt remember then that would be a bug and should be reported on the PS github project.
RE: Small UI issues
Well, that was it. didn't even see that setting when I was checking. Seems like a weird one to even bother with, why wouldn't you want that enabled?
Now just that stupid Legend.
RE: Small UI issues
The reason for that setting is a rather lot of issues historically with certain graphics cards and dual monitor setups. For example when using the software on an external monitor (say a docking station of a laptop) then when run without the screen position no longer exists and that would stop the software from running and basically crash it. People had to go in and edit the .ini file where the position is stored to get the software to start.
So Prusa added the setting. I don't think they were able to 'fix' it any other way.
Good luck with the legend, and don't hold your breath. People have been asking for it to remember the options selected for it for years, let along show ot not show it and no joy so far. For example https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/10386 (although thats a recent one). https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/3988
