RE: slicer removes a section of the model!
Difficult to tell without the project file. If you save and zip your slicer project, you can attache it to your post for everybody to see and inspect...
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!
RE:
Please go to Prusaprinter's File menu and save your project as a 3mf file. Zip it and attach it to a post here. You have to use your operating system's compression tool to create a zip file or the forum software won't allow it. The 3mf file will contain the STL and most importantly all your settings. Most likely there's something wrong with the model.

RE: slicer removes a section of the model!
I have got to the bottom of this. The model was a combination of a mesh and a body in fusion. I had cut the mesh at the plane intersecting the body. This however leaves an open mesh, which apparently prusaslicer doesn't like! it does something really funky and cuts out a random slice, different for each orientation. I've reproduced it and attached the zip for reference
RE: slicer removes a section of the model!
My guess is a corrupt model and resulting .stl file, particularly in the way that it cuts off the curved section and appears to omit detail.

Prusaprinter's File menu? did someone slip on their Freudian? 🤪
the model kinda looks like it has a Negative volume in there, the see through area. We need a project file to know

RE: slicer removes a section of the model!
Much better, do you mind explaining how you fixed it?
RE: slicer removes a section of the model!
I opened the project file in Prusa Slicer using windows10,
that brought up orange triangles with exclamation marks in them
I then clicked on the triangle and used netfabb to fix the errors.
