Sections of model disappear or cancel out when sliced

So, I'm new to 3D modelling and Prusa, but as part of an assignment I had to make a custom, themed chessboard. I've had some issues with all of the models when slicing, but I simply cannot figure out how to fix these two issues on my own. It is worth nothing that these pieces can't be any bigger than they are currently, each having to fit within a 6cm square.

Issue 1: Two pieces of the Master Sword (the guard and the rest of the handle) cancel out when they over lap. I've tried everything my newbie brain can think of to fix it and come out empty handed 🥲

Issue 2: The Triforce on the Hylian Shield seems to...float? This happened with all the other little fancy pieces too, but I managed to fix those by scaling up and making the mesh cleaner, yet this damned Triforce, no matter what I do, will not slice the way I want it to.

Anyway, long story short, any and all help would be appreciated. Here are the zipped slicing files, too (hope they work):

Master Sword: mastersword_bad_slice.3mf

Hylian Shield: shield_float_tri.3mf

I downloaded both.
Both had lots of errors (you see the darkgreen color). I selected the object. Right-click > Split (parts)
And then could do a slice. Looks well to me.

The sword has over 340 file errors, PrusaSlicer can only fix 240 of them - you need to go back to the source CAD and make certain you are exporting for 3D printing - some design apps are optimised for video/game assets and don't output printable files without specific settings.

BUT:  You may be better to download a Staunton or similar design, serious chess players never use fancy pieces and tend to turn down challenges that don't support their pattern recognition.  You may be wasting plastic.

Cheerio,

Thank you! I've got a little problem with doing that though (again, no idea what I'm doing): when I try to spilt it into parts, the option is greyed out and I can only spilt into objects 🙁

RE:

I'm using Blender and exported the model as an stl. for slicing, was that the right move? That's what Google told me to do 🤷‍♀️ And, to be honest, the whole idea of the set was to see if I could do it, rather than make it super useable. I'm not much of a chess player (neither are my friends lol) so I don't ever see it being used as anything other than a decorative piece 😌

Actually, never mind. I don't know what I did but, I managed to split it into parts and that fixed it. Thanks for the help 🫶

The dark green areas probably have reversed normals in blender.  Did you by any chance happen to rescale those parts ?  Its very easy to invert something when scaling.  Its also just as easy to fix in blender by recalculating the normals.

That is good to hear. Connected with the message of @diem, probably every part is repaired one by one, so the max. limit is not in effect.

I totally did rescale the parts... and after some hardcore googling I figured out how to check and fix the normals. They were absolutely messed up. Thanks for pointing that out, you're an actual life saver
